Tikal National Park is located in northern Guatemala, in the department of Petén, 484 km from Guatemala City (approximately 9 hours) and only 63 km from the city of Flores, Petén (about 1 hour). To get there, you can take a direct bus from Guatemala City to the city of Flores, with several transportation companies available.

You may also arrive by air at Mundo Maya International Airport, where several companies and agencies offer transportation and guided tour services. From Flores, take highway CA-13 toward Melchor de Mencos, then turn left at Ixlu Village, which leads to El Remate. Follow this road until you reach the park entrance. Public and private minibuses are available daily.
