Through this website, visitors can:

Purchase regular tickets and, if desired, special tickets or additional services

(PDF – Electronic Form 63A2)

This ticket may be presented in digital or printed format at the time of entry. WE DO NOT ISSUE INDIVIDUAL TICKETS.

It is recommended to make the purchase in advance, especially during high-demand seasons.

In-person purchase through an authorized bank

For those who prefer to make the payment in person, tickets can also be purchased at the first checkpoint of the park. This checkpoint is located approximately 20 kilometers from the Visitor Center. At this location, there is a BANTRAB bank branch where tickets can be purchased.

The bank acts exclusively as a payment intermediary, allowing visitors to pay the corresponding fee for the official entrance ticket. As proof of payment, the bank issues a receipt or electronic form 63A2, similar to a payment voucher.

It is important to take into account that:

  • The bank does not control access to the park

  • The bank does not provide tourist information

  • The payment receipt must be kept as proof

Once the payment has been made, access to the park is validated according to the controls established by the administration of Tikal National Park.

THIS IS THE ONLY ON-SITE PAYMENT METHOD. INSIDE THE PARK, MOBILE PHONE AND INTERNET SIGNAL IS LIMITED OR UNAVAILABLE, AND THERE IS NO TICKET OFFICE.

Purchase at BANTRAB bank branches nationwide

You may visit the service counter of any BANTRAB bank branch in the country and request the issuance of a ticket for any of the services offered at Tikal. An electronic form 63A2 will be issued, which must be presented at the park entrance (similar to a payment voucher).

How do I validate my tickets?

Upon entering Tikal National Park, all purchased tickets are officially validated in the access control system. As part of this process, an access wristband is issued for each ticket or service purchased, clearly and visibly identifying the authorized type of entry.

How does the wristband system work?

For each regular admission ticket, a wristband corresponding to the visitor type (national or foreign) is issued.

For each additional service (such as sunrise or sunset access), a specific wristband is issued for that service.

Authorized personnel validate the tickets in the system and deduct only the entries that are used at that moment.

Purchases with multiple tickets in a single transaction

If multiple tickets were purchased in a single transaction (for example, for a group or for different visit dates),

Only the tickets that are actually used at the time of entry are validated and deducted.

Unused tickets remain valid for up to 30 days after the date of purchase. After this period, the tickets are no longer valid.

The visitor may present the same document or proof of purchase again to use the remaining tickets at a later time, provided that the established dates and conditions are respected.

Once the voucher has been validated and all tickets have been used, the document may no longer be used on a different day.

Important information

The wristband must be worn visibly at all times during the visit. Park staff may request verification of the wristband at any time. Wristbands allow for an organized, secure, and transparent control system, benefiting both visitors and the protection of the archaeological site. Please note that entry will not be allowed if you did not purchase tickets corresponding to your visitor category.
